BSCNZ are pleased to announce an Industry Partnership with the Ministry of Social Development (MSD). This collaboration is a significant step toward enhancing support for members, while providing a platform to share relevant information on MSD programs.

 Below is an overview of some of the programs and initiatives offered by MSD to attract, train, and retain skilled staff.  (Please note eligibility criteria will apply)

1. Flexi-Wage:

  • Purpose: Flexi-Wage assists employers in hiring staff while ensuring they acquire the necessary skills for the job.  Flexi wage is now available for eligible part and full time employees
  • How It Works:
    • Employ an eligible MSD candidate
    • Employers receive a wage contribution from MSD.
    • Employees benefit from training and ongoing support.
    • The job must continue even after the Flexi-Wage period ends.
  • Benefits for Employers:
    • Financial support during the initial employment phase, the level of support may vary depending on the employees eligibility criteria.
    • Reduced risk in hiring and training new staff.

2. List your vacancy with MSD

Listing a job vacancy with the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is straightforward, cost-free, and provides access to a wide pool of potential candidates. By doing so, you actively contribute to the well-being of New Zealanders by facilitating meaningful employment opportunities.

3.  Mana in Mahi:

  • Objective: Mana in Mahi aims to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers. It focuses on individuals who are eager to kickstart their careers but require additional assistance to enter and sustain the workforce.
  • How It Works: Employers are matched with motivated candidates who need support during their work and training journey. Whether it’s mentoring, skill development, or guidance, Mana in Mahi facilitates a successful transition into employment.
  • Benefits for Employers:
    • Access to a pool of enthusiastic candidates.
    • Assistance in navigating the complexities of hiring and training.
    • A chance to contribute to community development by empowering job seekers.

4. Digital Suite:
